Fantasy Football Start ‘Em or Sit ‘Em Week 2: QB Sam Darnold

Heading into Week 2 fantasy football, owners would be wise to sit New York Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold against the Miami Dolphins.Last week, rookie quarterback Sam Darnold had quite the showing in the New York Jets completely embarrassing the Detroit Lions to the final tune of 48-17. Darnold’s first pass was indeed a pick-six but just like everyone expected, he didn’t let it phase him one bit and ended the night strong. Is it enough for fantasy football owners to consider starting him in Week 2?While Darnold totaled 198 passing yards, 16 completions, and two touchdowns, he’s not worth starting just yet. Many fantasy football owners likely didn’t start him last week due to being a rookie and all but such numbers might convince some to consider giving him a start this time around. In the grand scheme of things, Darnold is still a rookie and the jury is still out on what exactly transpired last week on Monday Night Football. Was it just the Jets facing an abysmal team in the Detroit Lions or could Darnold truly be the real deal? It’s best to always be cautious and not jump to crazy fantasy expectations after just a single game. At the end of the day, Darnold is still learning and hasn’t even earned a QB2 status in fantasy football just yet.Sit Darnold this week as he is set to face the Miami Dolphins in the first home game of the season for the Jets in MetLife Stadium. Yes, he’ll have Jets fans cheering and clapping at his every move but he still has a long way to go in order to be trusted to start in fantasy football leagues anytime soon. The Dolphins also have a better secondary than the Lions which will prove to be another test for the rookie. If Darnold ends up having another strong showing in Week 2 action, he will slowly start making the case to warrant being a starter down the road but for now, such statements are incredibly premature.!function(f,b,e,v,n,t,s) {if(f.fbq)return;n=f.fbq=function() {n.callMethod?
